Despite its name, Nave's Topical Bible isn't really a Bible at all. Rather, it is a topical dictionary. Each article is related to a topic and contains lists of Bible references related to that topic. For instance, the topic Hospitality includes references to verses that command hospitality, encourage hospitality, or are instances of hospitality. Therefore, Nave's Topical Bible is used in the same manner as a Bible dictionary or encyclopedia. Look up major themes, people, places or events of the Bible in Nave's Topical Bible and there you'll find a list of
Bible references pertinent to the topic under study.
The article for each topic includes links to Bible references related to that topic. While some topics are brief, and contain only a few Bible references, many other topics are more complex, and contain sub-topics with their own Bible references. These sub-topics are organized in an outline format.
Passages variously interpreted by different religious schools or accepted authorities are cited under the subjects they are claimed to support, without reference to the personal views of the author.
One of the most important and valuable features of this book is its elaborate system of cross references to kindred and antithetical subjects. Wide scope is thus given each subject by connecting it with those to which it is related.
It was not the object of the author to develop religious subjects only, but to note and classify everything found in the Scriptures. It is believed that it is approximately exhaustive. It is the result of fourteen years of untiring study of the Bible.
